Heritage Restoration in Margaret River: Reviving a Kerry Hill Design

Originally designed and built in 1997 by internationally renowned architect Kerry Hill, Ooi House is recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects as a building of high significance. Located in Margaret River, Western Australia, just 1km from the river mouth and overlooking the national park to the north, this iconic residence remains a defining piece of regional architecture today.

Sensitive Additions and Alterations

Our brief was to preserve the architectural integrity of the original design while carefully renovating areas that had suffered wear over time, including water damage to concrete, worn plumbing fixtures, and dated finishes — balancing respect for Kerry Hill’s original vision with the practical needs of contemporary living in WA’s South West.
